Nico is interested in how social groups blend and merge in relation to the individual. He strives to not understand but experience this aspects of life through exploring fictional spaces and stories. Stories often comprised of folk art tropes, flattened figures, and the mundane brought into new surroundings.
Nico Lown Heitz was born in Marin County, California, in 2003. He currently resides in San Francisco, continuing his work through painting. Nico has exhibited his work at The Mary Porter Sesnon Gallery in Santa Cruz, Adobe Books, The Problem Library, and City Hall in San Francisco, and at the Berkeley Center for the Arts, in Berkeley California. He was also included in the MePaintsMe 2025 Open Call, exhibited on the MePaintsMe website.
